Just when I finally got to my hair goals, after cutting off the remainder of my perm, my natural hair and curls were popping by August

2020. I was very consistent with my hair routine, using little to no heat, and doing a lot of natural hair protective styles for the year 2020 to the majority of 2021 until August 2021. It went downhill from here! I got extremely lazy and started going to the shop to get my hair done. I was getting my hair done every month or every other month. Each time I went I would get my hair washed, and the majority of styles I wanted required blown-out hair. The blow dryers at the salons are high quality and baby, that heat was straight from hell! On top of that, I was not doing my usual biweekly hair routine that my hair had grown to love. My deep conditioning went from every two weeks to sometimes once every 3 months. I went from a whole year of no heat to using high-heated blow dryers and silk presses on the regular.

It is safe to say that I fell in love with seeing the length and thickness progress of my hair and I did that ULTIMATE natural hair no-no with abandoning my hair routine and getting highly manipulated hairstyles. Tight ponytails, leave out sew-ins, flat ironing my hair too much, glue-ins, and all. Ladies if you love your hair like I did and when you start to see that length and grow confidence please don't do as I did. Yes, the styles are cute, but your ultimate goal should be to fall in love with what you are blessed with. I got severe heat damage and my hair and curls went from popping to thinning hair and the hair of the front half of my hair was completely bone straight. I couldn't do my cute twist-outs or rock my natural curls in an updo like I used to do. I was so hurt. I started thinking of a plan. I thought I could revert it, so in the year 2023, I was dedicated to doing better and putting my hair back up. I started to incorporate my hair routine and put my hair up for the year. For most of this year, I rocked braids, closure sew-ins, and wigs. I started to see a little progress with my hair getting back thicker at the roots. I know I needed my ends trimmed so I got my final silk press in July 2023.

I was so hurt by the results. My ends were so thin my length was disappearing and you could see through them. But still, I thought I could revert! And I was wrong. Once it started to get colder, I knew exactly what I had to do, and that was to start completely over.

As much as I tried to avoid it, and how disappointed I was, I made my decision to start fresh and cut off my heat damage. In December 2023 I did my big chop to remove all my heat damage. Thankfully, by me rocking braids and closure sew-ins for most of the year. My roots were strong and thick so when I cut off my heat damage, my curls were back to popping and I was so happy to see them back!
So here I am again, chapter 1 of my new page. This time around I will be documenting and
